I began taking all the watercolor classes I could in Spokane in the summer of 2002, I believe. A beginner’s class by Stan Miller was the answer to my prayers. Here was a class where I could start with simple methods to gradually learn about watercolor, all the while creating decent looking paintings. I discovered that painting, for me, is not a way to relax. It is a way to grow, to take the beauty that I see and share it, for others to enjoy.
Unfortunately, when my mom died in 2011, I just didn’t have the energy to spare for painting. Then my husband and I retired, buying a class A motorhome, then taking our great tour of the U.S. This lifestyle has been most enriching, at times a struggle, at times thrilling. I still don’t seem to find the time now to include painting. I do believe I will someday, when I feel more settled. Whenever that is, I shall begin adding more of life’s beauty here in this blog.
